A Christmas Blessing for Baby Jesus
As we prepare to light our third Advent candle, representing Joy that the birth of Christ brought to the world, we invite your Parish to begin or renew the beautiful tradition, Blessing of the Bambinelli, Christ Child figurines, on Gaudette Sunday.
Each year in Rome, our Holy Father invites children to bring their Bambinelli’s from their family nativity to be blessed. The Bambinelli’s are then taken home, wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree. On Christmas Day they’re the first gift to be unwrapped and placed in the crib.
The blessing of the Bambinelli reminds families of the true meaning of Christmas, the birth and gift of Jesus.
May St Joachim and St Anne, the most famous Grandparents of all time who brought up their daughter in love and prayer in their family home, bless you.
