Senior

This Sunday sees us contest another county senior hurling final when we face a strong Clonoulty Rossmore side in Semple Stadium at 3.30pm. The club would like to wish all the players and management best of luck in the match and hopefully the end result will go our way come 5 o’clock Sunday evening. We would urge all parishioners young and old to come out in numbers and support the team as they go in search of the much coveted Dan Breen cup.

Training Fund

Team training fund has now been launched to help prepare the team for the county final. Despite the wonderful support the club has received through the lotto, reaching the county final brings a lot of added expense. We would really appreciate any donations supporters feel they can afford to give in these tough times. Donations can be made through any committee member and will be acknowledged with receipt by the treasurer at a later date.

Junior B Mid Semi final

Junior hurling training continues at times stated in club text. It is important that all players attend as they county semi final is getting ever closer and is scheduled for the weekend of the 22nd/23rd October .

Junior Football

Commiserations to the junior football team who were narrowly defeated on Wednesday night last by Loughmore Castleiney in the Mid final by 2 points. This was a game that we could of won however we could not get the scores to do so. On Sunday afternoon we lined out against Ballylooby Castlegrace in the county quarter final in Littleton. Despite playing against the storm in the first half we went in at half time trailing by 0-3 to 0-1. However in the second half we struggled to get to grips with game and were defeated 1-9 to 1-3 in the end. Thanks to the management team of Jim Mullins, Jim Kinane and Brian Boyle for the time and effort all year.

Minor Football

Hard luck to our minor footballers who were comprehensively beaten by Ballyboden on Thursday night last in Clonoulty. Unfortunately on the night we came up against a more stronger and skilful side and we could not match their footballing skills. Thanks to their management team of John Hassett, Eamonn Kiely and Eamonn Long for their time and dedication all year.

Minor Hurling

This weekend the minors turn their attentions to the hurling championship when they line out in the County Semi final against Skeheenarinky on Saturday at 3pm in Golden. This will be a very tough encounter against the South champions but hopefully the lads can play to their full potential.

County Board Draw:

Congratulations to Maitiu Cahill Pallashill who won €10,000 in the September draw. October draw is on Friday next in Tipperary Town.

Under 10

Hard luck to the under 10′s who lost out to Borrisoleigh in the Prior cup last Saturday week. They fought very hard to the very end and we would like to commend the team and their mentors for all their time and dedication throughout the year. Also on last Sunday morning week they took part in the PJ Jones tournament in Templemore and after losing the first match they re-grouoped and emerged as eventual champions. Well done to all the players on a fantastic team performance. We would like to thank JK Brackens for inviting us to play in the tournament.
