Congrats to our minor hurling team who captured the county title by defeating Burgess on Saturday last in Templederry. After playing with the wind in the first half our boys lead at the break by 8 points. However Burgess came out of the blocks the sharper in the second half and outscored us by 1-3 to 1 point to leave a goal between the sides entering the final quarter. However all our lads put their shoulder to the wheel and defending resolutely to see the game out and won by 4 points in the finish. Shane Hassett collected the Paddy Broderick cup from club chairman Austin Broderick on behalf of the Broderick family. The club would like to thank the management team of John Hassett, Eamonn Kiely and Eamonn Long and also to their coach Paudie Butler.

At the time of going to press, it is unknown if the county final will go ahead this coming weekend, see county board fixtures for full details. A special word of thanks must go to the numerous Junior A’s and Intermediates who played the Junior B’s in a challenge on Sunday morning last.

Trip to Thomond Park

Our u10’s & 12’s had a wonderful trip to Limerick last Saturday evening firstly for a meal in Supermac’s and then to Thomond Park to see Munster play Edinburgh, this was a real treat after a great year’s hurling for these teams. This trip was generously sponsored by John Ryan (Connells Cross). The kids, coaches and parents of these kids really appreciate John’s support & interest in these young players.
