Weekly Club Notes - 30th September 2008
Senior:
The senior hurlers bowed out of the senior hurling championship at the quarter final stage when they were defeated by Thurles Sarsfields on a scoreline of 3.15 to 2.09. From the highs of winning the mid title only a couple of weeks previously to defeat in the quarter final, this was very difficult on the team. With injuries and suspensions playing its part in a lacklusture performance, the team will have to regroup and look back on the positives of the year which saw the team undefeated in 7 championship games until the quarter final and winning the mid title for only the fourth time means we can build on this year and look forward to a more productive season next year. The club would like to thank the all the players and the management team of Sean Prendergast, Pat Looby and Seamus Fahey for their hard work and dedication throughout the year

The intermediates play Fethard in the county quarter final this Saturday 4th October in Boherlahan at 2pm. Your support would be appreciated for this game.

Minor Hurling:
The minor hurlers will face St. Mary’s of Clonmel in the county quarter final on Saturday 11th October in Cashel at 4pm.

U16 Hurling:
The U16’s had a fantastic victory over Moyne/Templetuohy in the Mid U16 final played in Templemore on Tuesday last. While Moyne were first on the scoreboard, Drom quickly responded and quickly built up a big lead coming into half time. Their performance didn’t drop in the second half and won out in the end on a scoreline of 3.18 to 3.06. This was the first mid title ever to be won by this particular bunch of players so there was scenes of huge excitement when captain Philip Looby lifted the cup. The juvenile club would like to thank Donal and Rose Younge for supplying the U16 team and mentors with a meal after the game. The u16’s will face Borrisoleigh in the county semi final and this may take place this Saturday.
